During the Clone Wars alone, he waged war against the Jedi Order, Hondo Ohnaka's pirates, several crime families including the Hutts, Satine Kryze and the government of Mandalore, and even his fellow Sith Lords in a nearly successful attempt at preventing the creation of Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire.Īcross all of Maul's attempted conquests, the supply of lightsabers he wielded were almost as numerous. Ceaseless in his attempts to achieve his goals, Maul's plentiful conquests symbolized the insurmountable strength of his will. Undoubtedly the most iconic wielder of the double-bladed lightsaber, Maul's skill in using his weapon is rivaled only by his unparalleled drive for monumental power and galactic domination. Truly, Savage's strength was a force to be reckoned with if even Darth Sidious himself felt it necessary to end his life before he became too substantial of a threat. Even after losing his arm to the blade of Obi-Wan, Savage still expertly handled his two-sided lightsaber and remained instrumental in Maul's quests for power and vengeance. Upon returning to his home of Dathomir, Savage was given a quest by Talzin to seek out his true brother, the original double-blade wielder Darth Maul, and once united the two wrought overwhelming destruction across the Outer Rim. As an acolyte of Count Dooku, Savage immediately demonstrated his monstrous tenacity by effortlessly cutting down a number of Jedi before ultimately overpowering and escaping from the conflicting grasps of Dooku and Ventress and even holding his own against Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. When forced to kill a fellow Nightbrother, Savage's initial reluctance was quickly swayed by Asajj Ventress' promises of power, and for his devotion, an immense primal strength was awoken within him by the dark magics of Mother Talzin, transforming him into a hulking beast of a Sith servant. Like his brother before him, Savage Opress was chosen through a brutal test of strength and will to become a Sith apprentice and wield his own twin red blades. Though his presence in The Clone Wars was short-lived, Krell's multiple double-bladed lightsabers and insatiable thirst for power cemented him as one of the most memorable Force users of the era. Despite his eventual death at the hands of the clones, he sabotaged the clone army to devastating effect. Once he revealed his betrayal, Krell stated that the Force had given him a premonition of the downfall of the Jedi Order and that his turn to the Dark Side was rooted purely in his desire to rule alongside the new power that would replace the Jedi. Before even revealing his turn to the Dark Side, Krell was recognized as a ruthless tactician and powerful commander, making him a nightmare to any adversary. Similar to Dark Rey, Krell's green and blue sabers made use of the same folding functionality, making it trivial for the four arms of the large Besalisk warrior to command the battlefield with his powerful blades. Amidst the crucial Battle of Umbara during the Clone Wars, the merciless Jedi turncoat Pong Krell utilized not one, but two double-sided lightsabers to wreak immense destruction on both Separatist and Republic troops alike.
